CLIENT: Moquin Press

BACKGROUND: For almost 30 years Moquin Press has been serving trade customers as a full-service print and technology shop with almost 100 employees. In the past they relied on images provided by equipment manufacturers or stock images. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph two print brokers who regularly bring their work to Moquin. Owner, Greg Moquin saw a website we produced for one of the brokers and that led to Moquin Press hiring us to redo their website with custom photography.

SOLUTION: Capturing compelling and attractive images in a busy, working printing facility can be a challenge. In this case, the goal was to feature the state-of-the-art facility rather than specific people. But just photographing machines doesn't adequately tell the story of Moquin Press. It is the people who run the equipment so after discussing our vision with our client, I included people in the images as secondary to the machinery. My overall goal was to give Moquin Press photography that shows what an impressive print facility this is.
